On the other hand, means that no matter what you do, you will NEVER make this person happy.


Both of these words mean that you don't show a lot of emotion. is just feeling nothing, but means that you don't let yourself feel for other people because you're going to do what you're going to do, and you don't want anyone to change your mind.


The day of the quiz, most of the class was to the point that the teacher finally told them that she didn't want to hear their complaints. However, Amanda just lost it. Now Amanda has always been , which is why much of the class doesn't like her. I mean, she's been in three fights this year alone. But this time, she totally lost it. She stood up and gave this speech about how the teacher was teaching things wrong and about how the quiz was stupid. When the teacher finally told her to sit down, she actually threw her chair into the aisle. She was so that the teacher had to call for a principal. It was weird!


This word is a little different. It gets used to mean that a person fights a lot, but that's not actually what it means. It means that a person is brutal. I mean, they find the meanest possible thing to say and then say it. So, a person may get into a lot of fights, but that's only because of their hostile attitude.


The girl was willing to do anything to get the lead singer's autograph. The guy was such a jerk that he asked her to climb up in the area above the stage to get a shirt that had gotten stuck up there. Well, you guessed it: the girl fell and ended up breaking her arm. And she didn't even get an autograph.


When two people are talking, it's considered to walk up and interrupt. The correct thing is to walk close enough that they know you have something to say and then wait for a break in the conversation.


Being would be bad enough, but if you're at the same time, you're in real trouble because you'll never get off the couch long enough to make any money.


is close to callow, but where callow is a little negative, this word is very negative. It's not just someone who's immature, but it's someone who's immature and refuses to admit it.
